The Very Severe Cyclone Vayu is over presently over Northeast Arabian Sea moving in West-Northwest direction.
A Western Disturbance is over North Pakistan and adjoining areas. A Trough is extending from Punjab to Northeast Bay of Bengal across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Gangetic West Bengal. A Cyclonic Circulation is over Northwest and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal. An offshore Trough is extending from Karnataka to Kerala coast.
Weather Activity during the last 24 hours
During the last 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rains occurred over North Andaman Islands. Light to moderate rains with a few heavy spells occurred over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Konkan and Goa, Gujarat and Assam. Scattered light to moderate rains occurred over Chhattisgarh, the rest of East India, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Maharashtra. Isolated dust storm activity along with light rains was witnessed over Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh. Isolated light rains occurred over Himachal Pradesh whereas scattered light to moderate rains were witnessed over Coastal Odisha. Heat wave conditions prevailed over isolated pockets of Rajasthan and Vidarbha.
Weather Activity in the next 24 hours
In the next 24 hours, we expect light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells over Northeast India, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka. Light to moderate rains are expected over Gujarat, parts of Kerala, Odisha, East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh. Scattered light rains might occur with one or two moderate spells over Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. Isolated rains are likely over Telangana, interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh might see isolated dust storm activities accompanied with rains. Heat wave conditions are expected at isolated pockets if Rajasthan, and Vidarbha.
